Our modules for 2010 include:

PR for non PR People
Many companies cannot justify employing full-time PR people and often the PR function is given to the sales team, business development executives or the boss’s PA. And whilst they are probably very capable people, to be truly effective, PR requires careful planning and execution. This two-day course delivers practical skills and first-hand knowledge equipping you with the PR tools you need to add value to your business.

Freight Derivatives & Shipping Risk Management
Held in conjunction with the Baltic Exchange, this two day course covers the use of derivatives for freight risk management; hedging bunker risk; dealing with ship price fluctuations; managing credit, foreign exchange and interest rate risk; measuring and comparing the effectiveness of instruments.

Advanced Freight Modelling & Trading
Delivered by Dr Nikos Nomikos and Dr Amir Alizadeh of Cass Business School and run in conjunction with the Baltic Exchange, this advanced two day module focuses on modelling freight rate dynamics and pricing options on freight. It discusses issues which are relevant to shipping market practitioners such as constructing forward curves on freight, modelling freight rate volatility as well as hedging and trading strategies using freight options.

Practical Maritime Economics
This unique two day course provides participants with an in depth overview of the dry, tanker, gas and container markets and advises the potential investor how to analyse his investment decision. We look at the sources of capital available, drivers in the main markets, taxation and operational costs. The course is focused on providing practical answers to investing in this diverse industry.
